30^th March 1853 – Van Gogh born in the Netherlands.

1^st May 1857 – Theodorus Van Gogh was born.

1861 – 1864 – Van Gogh attends the local school.

1864 – 1868 – Van Gogh at boarding school.

30^th July 1869 – Van Gogh starts work at Goupil & Co in the Hague.

May 1873 – Van Gogh transferred to Goupil & Co in London.

May 1875 – Transferred to Goupil & Co Paris Office.

January 1876 – Van Gogh works as a teacher in Kent London.

January – April 1877 – Works as a bookshop Clerk in Dordecht.

May 1877 – Studies to read theology at university of Amsterdam. Fails entrance exam.

April 1878 – Studies to enter religious college in Brussels but fails entrance exam.

December 1878 – August 1879 – Works as a Lay Preacher in Borinage.

1880 – Decides to become an artist. Attends Brussels Art Academy.

1881 – Moves to the Hague to study with Anton Mauve.

1882 – Lives with Sien Hoornik.

1883 Paints in Drenthe then returns to his parent’s home in Nuenen.

1884 – 1885 – Paints in Nuenen.

26^th March 1885 – Van Goghs Dad Dies.

1885 – The Potato Eaters picture.

November 1885 – Van Gogh moves to Antwerp.

January 1886 – Briefly attends Antwerp Art Academy.

February 1886 – Moves to Paris, lives with Theo. Meets the impressionists.

June 1886 – Theo and Van Gogh move to Montmatre.

Winter 1886 – Van Gogh meets Paul Gauguin.

November 1887 – Van Gogh meets Georges Seurat.

February 1888 – Leaves Paris for Arles.

March 1888 – Van Goghs work is shown at Sabn des independents in Paris, but does not sell.

May 1888 – Rents part of the yellow house and uses as a studio.

August 1888 – Meets Joseph Roulin. Van Gogh paints the sunflower series.

September 1888 – Van Gogh moves into the yellow house.

23^rd October 1888 – Gauguin comes to Arles to stay with Van Gogh. They live and work together.

December 1888 – Theo becomes engaged to Johanna Bonger.

23^rd December 1888 – Van Gogh has a mental crisis and cuts of part of his ear.

24^th December 1888 Unconscious, Van Gogh is taken to Arles hospital. Theo comes from Paris.

7^th January 1889 – Van Gogh is released from hospital. Returns to Yellow House alone.

February 1889 – Van Gogh suffers two more attacks.

March 1889 - Van Gogh suffers fourth attack.

17^th April 1889 – Theo Marries Johanna.

May 1889 – Van Gogh enters the Saint Paul asylum, at Saint Renny for one year.

July – December 1889 – Van Gogh suffers more attacks.

31^st January 1890 – Jo gives birth to a Son.

March 1890 – The red vineyard is sold.

20^th May 1890 – Goes to live in Auvers – sur – oise. Van Gogh meets Dr Paul Gochet.

27^th July 1890 – Van Gogh shoots himself.

29^th July 1890 – Van Gogh dies of his injuries.

15^th January 1891 – Theo Van Gogh Dies.
