71
YOU WILL NEED
- Small cardboard box
- Large square of card for base (Quite hard thick card from a cardboard box)
- 5 Toilet Rolls
- A sheet of A4 paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Sellotape
- A sheet of A4 Card
- Cocktail Stick / or a straw cut into small sections
- 10cm Piece of thick string
HOW TO MAKE
- Take your cardboard box and from this cut 4 rectangle shapes for the walls.
- Glue the rectangles together in a square shape onto the hard cardboard used for the base, you can either glue or sellotape your square shape to the base.
- Take 4 of your toilet rolls and cut two slits on one side of the toilet roll about 3cm apart, do this on each toilet roll. Then slot the toilet rolls onto each corner of the walls.
- To make the battlements take your sheet of a4 paper and cut 4 lots of half square strips (as shown in picture) then glue these strips round the top of each of your toilet rolls.
- Take your 5th toilet roll and glue of sellotape it to the base in the centre of the castle.
- To make the roof for your centre toilet roll, take your sheet of A4 card and draw a circle about twice the size of the top of the toilet roll, then cut it out and cut a slit in it to the centre of the circle. Then roll the circle to make a cone shape and glue it together.
- With the cone shape made you can now glue or tape this to the top of the toilet roll in the centre of the castle. If you wish to put roofs on any of the other toilet rolls just do the same as the above step.
- To make the door of the castle cut a rectangle of card (slightly higher than the wall) and stick this to the front of the castle.
- To make the gate cut a rectangle of card smaller than the last, but this time cut one end of the rectangle in a curved shape. Glue this onto the rectangle at the front of the castle.
- To make the draw bridge cut another rectangle the same size and shape as the gate i have just mentioned, with the curved end. Lay this on the base in front of the gate, take your length of string and cut it to size so each bit reaches the drawbridge from the gate. The glue the string to the drawbridge and then to the door just above the gate.
- To finish the door cut two thin strips of card, the same length as from the base to the top of the wall, and stick one either side of the gate. Then cut another strip in the same shape as the battlements, to fit across the top of the rectangle for the door, glue this on over the top of the string.
- If you wish to make a flag just take your cocktail stick/cut up piece of straw and cut a square out of left over a4 paper and glue the paper to the stick/straw.
- The rest of the decoration and painting is up to you .
- You can detail how you wish.
