YOU WILL NEED

  • Flour
  • Water
  • Newspaper
  • Bowl
  • Paint
  • Cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Glue

TO MAKE

  • Firstly take some cardboard and cut out an animal or something that suits you or your child, in this case its a toucan.
  • When cut out build the toucan shape with newspaper.
  • Cut a rectangular shape out of card and stick this to the bottom of the toucan.
  • When your toucan is built up and ready you can start the paper mache.
  • Mix 2 cups of flour with 1 cup of water and half a table spoon of salt.
  • Mix this until it is a creamy consistancy.
  • Add a layer of the mix to the newspaper.
  • Add a new layer of newspaper and repeat the process.
  • When finished leave to dry somewhere warm.

  • Once dried you can paint your door hanger any way you wish, using the botton rectangle as a base for you name.
